Bio

Steve Owen draws on his vast experience of the last 30 years to provide extremely simple, and inexpensive business solutions. As a supervisor, manager, HR consultant and award winning business owner Steve has seen it all in people management. From the silly to the tragic, Steve has lived that life and has covered an incredible range of staffing issues, and the odd crisis. All this managing teams from 2-200.

Steve says like many others he became drawn into the role, taking on too much, realising the difficulties of dealing with people, being a manager, a mentor, a friend. After many years of trial and error he devised time efficient ways of getting the people he paid to do the work efficiently with less effort for all!

"One day I came across something that changed my working life forever. I found a strategy that allowed me to break free. I could manage my people and get them engaged. I could address their issues and manage their performance. I could do my job AND incredibly find myself with more than enough time to myself to do so."

"My own skill level went through the roof. Suddenly, other managers were wondering how I had so much time on my hands. And how on earth I managed to leave work on time each night! Coupled with this was the positive culture I developed within my teams and the excellent feedback when doing 360 interviews."

"This led to progress quickly up the chain from team leader to executive director in two years. 10 years ago I then started the journey of business and HR consulting and setting up my own businesses internationally, winning numerous awards on the way."

At this stage of his career Steve has now moved away from his businesses so he has time to do the things he loves doing, and helping business owners and managers around the world.

A member of the HR Coach Australasia network, Steve still has a desire to give back and help others. "I am now a coach once again, here to pass on my experience to those starting out - I don't need to charge them hundreds of thousands or lock them into things they don't need. I just require some time to show people they are capable of having a great management career and not kill themselves in the process - and that is the joy of what I do now!
